My passion for design and manufacturing was made official when hosting my first trunk show of reclaimed furniture, handmade frames out of vintage books, and custom note sets during my senior year at Duke. From word of mouth alone, that trunk show turned into multiple, successful trunk shows and I knew designing and producing product lines of fashion, furniture, and accessories was my career calling. I’ve never looked back.
Since that first trunk show in 2006, I bootstrapped the company over the next few years. But as I started to produce new products, I needed external funding. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to raise the necessary capital from friends and family and limited outside investors.
As my team and I continue to evolve our brand and expand our product lines, our working capital needs increase. I sought a funding solution that would allow me to retain the most ownership in my company, and quickly supply the cash we needed. That’s when Able found me.
“Unlike a line of credit, the Able loan provided an immediate injection of working capital into our business so we could purchase equipment to reduce operational costs and invest in the buildout of our first retail showroom.”
I’m excited to align myself with like-minded entrepreneurs in the Able Network, and help each other in changing the way small businesses grow.
